Mrs. Heidi Weinert To All Instructors

Have you ever just known that God laid something on your heart, but waited a long time to find out His purpose?  I have spent many, many hours studying ASL, as well as deaf history, and culture. As a kinesthetic and visual learner, I feel like signing takes my worship at church to a deeper level. It has been my honor to lead worship with sign language on occasion as well.  I was thrilled when the board offered me the opportunity to kindle a fire in the hearts of LINK students, not only for the beautiful language that is American Sign Language, but also for the hard of hearing and deaf community. I seek to further deepen my knowledge of ASL as a non-trad student in college this coming fall.

I was previously a Tutor and Director with my Classical Conversations community for seven years. I am currently a virtual reading tutor for Amplify. I have just graduated my third and final child from Weinert Academy after 24 years of homeschooling my children Malcolm, Cambria, and Tristan. My husband is Greg, and he lives in Juneau, Alaska most of the year but that is a story for another day!

My other God-gifted passions are gardening and theatre, both of which I am looking forward to giving more of my time, in worship of Him. I am currently preparing to tell the 1st person story of Katherine Lee Bates with the organization America’s Great Stories as we hand out free Bibles to children and tell them the stories of great Americans who sought and served the Lord.
